Dr Hasnita Dato' Hashim
 
Chairman
Dr. Hasnita Dato’ Hashim was appointed as the Chairman of Maybank Asset Management Group Berhad and Maybank Asset Management Sdn Bhd on 14 May 2022. She also serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Maybank, a member of the Risk Management Committee, Audit Committee, Nomination and Remuneration Committee and Compliance Committee of the Board and Board Sustainability Committee.

She holds a PhD in Nuclear Physics from Oxford University and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Surrey University. She brings 25 years of global financial management experience in the field of asset management, structured finance and asset securitisation. She is also known to be a pioneer and innovator in Islamic finance and has extensive relationships with large investors and key business players particularly from the Gulf countries. In 1998, she founded IslamiQ, the world’s first online Islamic finance portal and was the Chief Executive Officer of IslamiQ from 1998 to 2001..

Within the Maybank Group, she is currently the Chairman of Maybank Investment Bank Berhad and Maybank Kim Eng Holdings Limited. Besides Maybank Group, Dr Hasnita is a director of Guidance Investments (Labuan) Ltd, Guidance Atel Investments Ltd, Guidance ATEL GCC Investments Ltd and REDACHEM Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

Dr. Hasnita has been appointed as Chairman of the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) with effect from 1 October 2018 and as a member of the National Economic Action Council on 11 February 2019. Currently, she is also a director of Guidance Investments (Labuan) Ltd, Guidance Atel Investments Ltd, Guidance ATEL GCC Investments Ltd and REDACHEM Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

Dr. Hasnita was the Chairman of the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) from 1 October 2018 to 18 March 2020 and also a member of the National Economic Action Council from February 2019 to March 2020. She was also the Chief Executive Officer of Commerce MGI Sdn Bhd (CMGI), Malaysia from 1994 to 1998. She served as Head, Institutional Business of Guidance Financial Group from 2002 to 2011. She was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Guidance Investments Sdn Bhd, an investment arm of Guidance Financial Group and a global investment company with asset under management of around USD1 billion, from May 2012 to December 2016. Dr. Hasnita was also a director of Guidance SEARE Advisors GP Limited.

Goh Ching Yin
 
Director
Goh Ching Yin was appointed as the Chairman of Maybank Asset Management Singapore on 1 January 2021 and an Independent Non-Executive Director of Maybank Asset Management Group Berhad on 1 January 2017.

Goh holds master of business administration from the Cranfield University, and has held various leadership and management positions in investment banking, regional business development, strategic consultancy, corporate recovery and insolvency, and auditing. He started his professional career with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Company (now known as KPMG), and then moved on to consultancy at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Goh later started his foray into the investment banking industry when he was with RHB Sakura Merchant Bankers Berhad as a General Manager for Corporate Finance. Subsequently, he assumed the roles as the Managing Director of Corporate Finance with the BNP Paribas Group in Malaysia, and the Chief Executive Officer of Southern Investment Bank Berhad of the Southern Bank Group. He then held positions as executive director in the Chairman’s Office, Strategy and Development, and Market Oversight Divisions during his stint with the Securities Commission Malaysia.

Apart from his directorships, he is also the board member of Maybank Asset Management Sdn Bhd, Chairman of the Audit Committee of MAMG. Within other Maybank group of companies, he is also a board member of Maybank Investment Bank Berhad.

Badrul Hisyam Abu Bakar
 
Director
Badrul Hisyam Abu Bakar was appointed as Regional Head, Investment Management of Maybank Kim Eng Group effective 1 March 2021. He previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of Maybank Asset Management Group from 25 April 2018. He is also a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of Maybank Asset Management Singapore, which he was appointed to on 1 April 2020.

Badrul has over 23 years of experience in numerous asset management companies such as HLG Asset Management Sdn Bhd, Commerce Asset Fund Managers Sdn Bhd, Avenue Asset Management Sdn Bhd, Tune Money Capital Sdn Bhd and BIMB Investment Management Berhad. His experience covers both traditional and shariah/ethical mandates and he has worked on both sides of the business - retail and institutional. At CIMB-Principal Asset Management Bhd, he was heavily engaged in the restructuring and rehabilitating of portfolios. Prior to joining Maybank AM, he was the Chief Investment Officer of BIMB Investment Management Berhad.

He graduated from New York University, USA with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Finance and Economics in 1996.

Shirley Goh
 
Director
Shirley Goh was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Maybank Asset Management Group Berhad and Maybank Asset Management Sdn Bhd on 14 May 2022. She also serves as a Chairman of Investment Committee of Maybank Asset Management Sdn Bhd, an Independent Non-Executive Director of Maybank, a member of the Credit Review Committee of the Board.

She is a board member of IOI Properties Group Berhad and a member of The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and The Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

Shirley Goh retired from PricewaterhouseCoopers Malaysia in June 2020 having worked with PwC for 41 years, of which 24 years were as a Partner. During her time in PwC, she was a long serving member of the Assurance Executive Team and was elected by the Partners to the Oversight Board in 2016 which she chaired for 4 years prior to her retirement in June 2020.

She has over 40 years of experience in audit and had provided business advisory services to a diverse range of clients, including local enterprises and conglomerates as well as multinational companies in financial services, healthcare, property development, poultry farming, retail, services etc. Apart from this, she also has a myriad of experience advising on local and cross-border Merger & Acquisition transactions at all stages of integration. She has also worked with clients with overseas operations such as in China, India, Singapore, Vietnam and Indonesia.

Muhammad Hishamudin Hamzah
 
Director
Muhammad Hishamudin Hamzah was appointed as the Director of Maybank Asset Management effective 11 March 2024. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of Maybank Asset Management and Maybank Asset Management Group since 1 March 2024 and 6 November 2023 respectively. 

Hisham has a 16-year track record in navigating the complexities of global equity markets. He was previously a Senior Portfolio Manager at Nomura Asset Management Malaysia for six years where he managed diverse global equities investment portfolios. Hisham was also a designated fund manager for Nomura’s Global Multi-Asset Strategic Growth Fund.

Prior to that, Hisham has 10 years of financial services experience in the United Kingdom. He honed his investment skills at Lansdowne Partners, a prestigious London-based hedge fund, where he contributed to the European Long Only strategy. His experience was further enriched by serving as an Equities Analyst at Redburn Partners, an equity research and brokerage firm in London. His professional journey began at EY United Kingdom that laid the foundation for his career.

He is a CFA charterholder, a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, and graduated with a First Class Honours degree in Accounting and Finance at the University of Warwick.

Muhammad Hishamudin Hamzah
 
Chief Executive Officer
Muhammad Hishamudin Hamzah was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Maybank Asset Management effective
1 March 2024. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of Maybank Asset Management Group since 6 November 2023.

Syhiful Zamri
 
Chief Investment Officer
Syhiful Zamri was appointed as the Chief Investment Officer of Maybank Asset Management (MAM) since 17 May 2021. Prior to this, Syhiful served as the Chief Investment Officer of Maybank Islamic Asset Management (MIAM) since 2015. He was responsible for overseeing investments across asset classes together with a team of fund managers at MIAM with their respective responsibilities to manage and monitor investments, in particular managing pension and institutional funds. He also assisted the Head of Regional Investment in the development of short-term and long-term investment strategies and policies for Maybank Asset Management Group. 

Syhiful has more than 18 years of experience in the fund management industry. He is well versed in debt restructuring, corporate turnarounds, and mergers and acquisitions. His strength lies in his insight to the power sector and toll roads where most debts for the sector were raised during his career as Senior Vice President of Research and Advisory in Kenanga Investors Bhd and Head of Fund Management Research RHB Investment Management.

He graduated with an Honours Degree from De Monfort University (UK) with Bachelor in Accounting and Finance. He is a holder of CMSRL license.

Norazlina Binti Abdul Rashid
 
Head of Compliance
Azlina has over 20 years of legal and compliance experience in financial institutions and regulatory boards. Her extensive legal experience includes heading the Corporate Affairs Department which consists of the Legal Unit, the Secretarial Unit and Quality Management Unit for RHB Units Trusts. She went on to lead the Legal, Compliance & Secretarial department of ING Funds Berhad and was instrumental in setting up the funds back in 2003. After that, she headed the asset management Group Compliance Department at CIMB Principal and held other key roles such as the Secretariat for the Principal Financial Group’s Risk Management Committee for CIMB-Principal Islamic Asset Management Berhad and also managed the compliance department of subsidiaries in Southeast Asia region within the CIMB Group.

Her regulatory experience began at Securities Commission Malaysia where she had a pivotal role in managing the Authorisation and Licensing Department for securities, derivatives and fund management including venture capital management corporation and all other regulated activities. Her role also included assessing licensing applications, monitoring of compliance with licensing requirements as well as formulation and implementation of new policies to enhance the efficiency and competitive edge of the Malaysian capital market. At CTOS, Malaysia's leading Credit Reporting Agency, she headed the legal, regulatory and compliance audit team where she manages the main regulators such as Registrar of Credit Reporting Agencies under the Ministry of Finance, Bank Negara Malaysia, Companies Commission of Malaysia and Commissioner of Personal Data Protection Act.

She holds a LLB (Hons) degree from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK and was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in 1997.

Massinissa Halim Ibrahim
 
Chief Risk Officer
Massi has close to 15 years of experience in risk management, trading and investment banking advisory, and & started his career in the U.S. as a risk manager for PNC Financial Services.

Prior to joining Maybank Asset Management Group Berhad, Massi spent over a decade in front office roles in New York, as a trader for Nomura Securities and as a senior banker for an emerging markets-dedicated boutique investment bank. He has also been heading the Market Risk Analytics and Policy team for Maybank Investment Bank Berhad and Maybank Kim Eng since December 2019.

Massi graduated from Dauphine University (Paris) with a BSc in Economics and Finance, from Brandeis University (Boston area) with a MA in Economics and Finance, and holds an MBA from INSEAD (Paris/ Singapore). He also completed the three levels of the CFA examination.

Jennifer Lim
 
Head of Sales & Distribution
Jennifer joined Maybank Asset Management in March 2019 as Head of Sales & Distribution. She started her career as a Communications Executive, and subsequently spent 6 years in marketing and financial planning at Public Mutual Berhad. She has also worked as a tax consultant Ernst & Young Tax Services.

Prior to joining Maybank Asset Management Sdn Bhd, she was Head of Business Development & Marketing at UOB Asset Management (Malaysia) Berhad (UOBAM), where she grew the institutional business and pioneered the growth of its retail unit trust business.

Jennifer has over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing for investment products and services. She is a graduate of Universiti Utara Malaysia and holds a Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) degree.

Koh Huat Soon
 
Regional Head of Research
Huat Soon was appointed as Regional Head of Research at Maybank Asset Management Sdn Bhd on 17th January 2022, where he manages a team with the goal of identifying and recommending profitable regional investment ideas and stocks to the investment team. Huat Soon was previously the Head of Research for Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad. With 30 years of working experience in the field of equity research and investments, he started his investment banking career as sell-side equity analyst with a number of research offices that included CLSA, RHB Research and SocGen. This was followed by a career in fund management, where he became Chief Investment Officer at Pacific Mutual Fund Berhad.

He holds a Bachelor degree in Engineering Science from Oxford University, England and an MBA degree from Melbourne University, Australia. He obtained his CFA charter in 2001.

Maybank Asset Management Sdn Bhd (“MAM”) has appointed Maybank Islamic Berhad (“Maybank Islamic”) as the Shariah Advisor. Maybank Islamic, incorporated on 5 September 2007, is the Maybank Group’s full-fledged licensed Islamic bank wholly-owned by Maybank. Prof. Dr. Aznan Hasan
Professor, IIUM Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance, International Islamic University Malaysia

Prof. Dr. Aznan was appointed as the Chairman of the Shariah Committee on 1 May 2014 and a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director 25 April 2019 at Maybank Islamic.

Dr Aznan received his first degree in Shariah from the University of al-Azhar (BA Hons), Egypt and a Master’s degree in Shariah from Cairo University, Egypt with distinction (Mumtaz). He then obtained his PhD from the University of Wales, Lampeter, United Kingdom.

Currently, he is the Deputy Chairman of the Shariah Advisory Council of Securities Commission, the Deputy Chairman of the Shari’a Supervisory Board of Bank Nizwa (Oman), a Board member of Higher Shari’ah Authority of UAE Central Bank, and a Shariah Board member of Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (“AAOIFI”). He had served as a member of the Shariah Advisory Council of Bank Negara Malaysia (2006-2008 and 2010-2013).

He serves as a member of the Shariah Advisory Board/Shariah Committee for Employee Provident Fund. He also serves as a Shariah consultant/adviser to Maybank Investment Bank, Hong Leong Investment Bank (Stockbroking), Public Investment Bank Bhd (Stockbroking), Malacca Securities Bhd, CGS-CIMB Securities Berhad, UOB Kayhian Securities and Inter-Pacific Securities Bhd. He is a registered Shariah Advisor for the Islamic Unit Trust Schemes and Islamic securities (Sukuk), Securities Commission of Malaysia. Ustaz Mohd Kamal bin Mokhtar
Judge, Shariah Appeal Court of Singapore
Ustaz Mohd Kamal was appointed as a member of the Shariah Committee of Maybank Islamic on 1 September 2015.

He graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a B.Sc. in Zoology and Botany. He obtained his Diploma in Arabic Language from the Islamic University of Medina (Saudi Arabia). Proceeded in Faculty of Hadith and graduated with BA (Hons.) in Hadith and Islamic Studies. Additionally, he graduated from Shari'a Advisory Training Program jointly conducted by Singapore Islamic Scholars & Religious Teachers Association (PERGAS) and International Institute of Islamic Finance (IIIF). He holds a Master of Science (Finance) from the International University of Malaysia (IIUM).
 

He is the Chairman of Bedok Cooperative and a Board member of Warees Halal Limited. He serves as a Shariah Committee member for Basil fund, a private Real Estate Investment fund based in Singapore since 2012 and Shariah Advisor at Ar Rahnu Singapore.

Additionally, Ustaz Kamal serves as an Associate Member of the Fatwa Council of Majlis Ugama Islam Singapore (MUIS) to discuss contemporary matters concerning the general Muslim public in Singapore. He is also a member of Asatizah Recognition Board (ARB) Committee of Future Asatizah of MUIS and PERGAS, a member of International Union for Muslim Scholars and Association of Shariah Advisors in Islamic Finance (ASAS).

Dr. Akhtarzaite Abdul Aziz
 
Assistant Professor, Department of Fiqh and Usul Al-Fiqh, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM)
Dr Akhtarzaite Abdul Aziz was appointed as a member of the Shariah Committee of Maybank Islamic with effect from 1st March 2020.

She is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Fiqh and Usul Al-Fiqh, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).

She received her Bachelor’s degree in Law in 1994 and subsequently Bachelor’s degree in Shariah a year later in 1995. She then obtained her Master’s degree in Fiqh and Usul Al-Fiqh in 2000 and followed-by PhD in Fiqh and Usul Al-Fiqh in 2015, all from International Islamic University Malaysia (“IIUM”).

Currently, she is the Chairman of the Shariah Committee of Great Eastern Takaful Berhad and serves as a member of Shariah Advisory Committee of IIUM Endowment Fund.

Dr. Nik Abdul Rahim Nik Abdul Ghani
 
Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Islamic Studies at University Kebangsaan Malaysia
Dr Nik Abdul Rahim was appointed as a member of the Shariah Committee of Maybank Islamic with effect from 8 September 2020.

He is a senior lecturer at the Research Centre for Shariah, Faculty of Islamic Studies at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

Dr Nik Abdul Rahim received his bachelor’s degree in Shariah from Islamic University of Medina in 2003 and master’s degree in Shariah from UKM in 2009. He then obtained his PhD in Islamic Finance from the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF, Malaysia ) in 2017.

Currently, he serves as a member of the Shariah Advisory Body of Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Berhad, Jawatankuasa Perundingan Hukum Syarak Wilayah Persekutuan - Pejabat Mufti Wilayah Persekutuan, Syariah Advisory Panel of Wasiyyah Shoppe Berhad and Shariah Committee of UKM.

Associate Professor Dr Sharifah Faigah Syed Alwi
 
Senior Lecturer, Arshad Ayub Graduate Business School and the Faculty of Business and Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA
Associate Professor Dr Sharifah Faigah Syed Alwi was appointed as a member of the Shariah Committee of Maybank Islamic with effect from 1 May 2021.

She is a senior lecturer at Arshad Ayub Graduate Business School and the Faculty of Business and Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA.

She received her bachelor’s degree in Shariah (Economics) and her master’s degree in Shariah (Islamic Banking) from the University of Malaya in 1995 and 2004 respectively. She then obtained her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Islamic Banking and Finance from the International Islamic University Malaysia in 2012.

Previously, Dr Sharifah Faigah was a Shariah Committee member at Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad and United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd. Currently, she is the panel of assessor of Malaysian Qualifications Agency to ensure the quality of the Islamic banking and finance program offered by the universities in Malaysia. At the same time, she is appointed as the visiting professor, external advisor and external examiner for Islamic banking and finance program for a few public and private universities in Malaysia, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.

Currently, she serves as a member of Shariah Committee, Agrobank (Malaysia) and AmMetLife Takaful Malaysia.

Ustaz Muhammad Ali Jinnah Ahmad
Ustaz Muhammad Ali Jinnah bin Ahmad was appointed as a member of the Shariah Committee of Maybank Islamic with effect from 1 May 2021.

He holds a Bachelor in Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh wa Usul) from Al al-Bayt University, Jordan in 2002 and Master in Islamic Management, Banking and Finance at Loughborough University, UK in 2004. He is currently pursuing his PhD at International University of Malaya-Wales.

Ustaz Muhammad Ali started his career as a lecturer at Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor (KUIS) and later joined International Shari’ah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA) as a researcher from 2009 to 2017. He was the Chairman of Shariah Committee at BNP Paribas Malaysia Berhad and BNP Paribas Labuan Branch. He also served as the Chairman of Shariah Committee and Independent Non-Executive Director at HSBC Amanah Takaful Malaysia Berhad.

Currently, he is an Independent Non-Executive Director at FWD Takaful Malaysia Berhad.

Amanie Advisors Sdn Bhd

Maybank Asset Management Sdn Bhd (“MAM”) has appointed Amanie Advisors Sdn Bhd ("Amanie") as the Shariah Advisor for MAM's Shariah funds. Amanie is a Shariah advisory, consultancy, training and research and development boutique for institutional and corporate clientele focusing on Islamic financial services. Amanie is a registered Shariah adviser with the SC. It has been established with the aim of addressing the global needs for experts' and Shariah scholars' pro-active input. This will ultimately allow the players in the industry to manage and achieve their business and financial goals in accordance with the Shariah principles. Amanie also focuses on organizational aspect of the development of human capital in Islamic finance worldwide through providing updated quality learning embracing both local and global issues on Islamic financial products and services.

Amanie is led by Tan Sri Dr Mohd Daud Bakar and teamed by an active and established panel of consultants covering every aspect related to the Islamic banking and finance industry both in Malaysia and the global market. Currently the team comprises of eight (8) full-time consultants who represent dynamic and experienced professionals with a mixture of corporate finance, accounting, product development, Shariah law and education. Since 2005, Amanie has acquired over seventeen (17) years of experience in the advisory role of unit trusts with more than 100 active funds which Amanie acts as Shariah adviser.

Amanie meets every quarter to address Shariah advisory matters pertaining to its Shariah funds.

Tan Sri Dr. Mohd Daud Bakar
 
Tan Sri Dr. Mohd Daud Bakar is the Founder and Executive Chairman of Amanie Group. One of its flagship companies namely Amanie Advisors, is operating in a few cities globally. He serves as the Chairman of the Shariah Advisory Council (SAC) at the Central Bank of Malaysia, the Securities Commission of Malaysia, the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), Kazakhstan, the First Abu Dhabi Bank (UAE), and Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB).

Tan Sri Dr Daud is also a Shariah board member of various global financial institutions, including the National Bank of Oman (Oman), Amundi Asset Management (France), Bank of London and Middle East (London), BNP Paribas Najma (Bahrain), Natixis Bank (Dubai), Morgan Stanley (Dubai), Sedco Capital (Saudi and Luxembourg) and Dow Jones Islamic Market Index (New York) amongst many others.

Tan Sri serves as the Chairman of Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department [Majlis Agama Islam Persekutuan (MAIWP)]. In the corporate world, he is currently a member of the PNB Investment Committee. Previously, he served as a Board Director at Sime Darby Property Berhad and Chairman to Malaysia Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YaPEIM). In addition, he is the co-founder of Experts Analytics Centre Sdn Bhd and MyFinB Sdn. Bhd. He also serves as the Chairman of Berry Pay Sdn. Bhd., Data Sukan Consulting Sdn. Bhd., Bio Fluid Sdn. Bhd., KAB Gold Dynamics Sdn. Bhd., BioAngle Vacs Sdn. Bhd., Tulus Digital Sdn. Bhd., and Amanie-Afra Halal Capital Co (Bangkok). He was the former 8th President of the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM).

Tan Sri Dr Mohd Daud has received the “Royal Award for Islamic Finance 2022” by His Majesty, the King of Malaysia. While in 2014, he received the “Most Outstanding Individual” award by His Majesty, the King of Malaysia, in conjunction with the national-level Prophet Muhammad’s birthday. Under his leadership, Amanie Advisors received the “Islamic Economy Knowledge Infrastructure Award” at the Global Islamic Economy Summit, Dubai 2015, by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Oct 2015. On 13 November 2021, he was conferred the Darjah Kebesaran Panglima Setia Mahkota (P.S.M.) which carries the title of “Tan Sri”.

He received his first degree in Shariah from University of Kuwait in 1988 and obtained his PhD from University of St. Andrews, United Kingdom in 1993. In 2002, he completed his external Bachelor of Jurisprudence at University of Malaya.

Tan Sri’s first book entitled “Shariah Minds in Islamic Finance: An Inside Story of A Shariah Scholar” has won the “Islamic Finance Book of the Year 2016” by the Global Islamic Finance Award (GIFA) 2016. Then, his book on sukuk entitled “An Insightful Journey to Emirates Airline Sukuk: Pushing The Boundaries of Islamic Finance” has also won the “Best Islamic Finance Case 2017” by the GIFA 2017 in Kazakhstan. To date, Tan Sri has been authoring more than 40 books with different genre.

Suhaida Mahpot
 
Suhaida Mahpot is the Chief Executive Officer for Amanie Advisors in Kuala Lumpur office. She holds a Bachelor of Economics (Islamic Economic & Finance) from International Islamic University Malaysia and a professional certificate of Certified Shariah Advisor and Auditor (CSAA) of AAOIFI.

She joined Amanie in 2008 and was amongst the pioneers in the company. She is a specialist in sukuk advisory and has been advising numerous sukuk locally and internationally. One of the sukuk advised by her together with Tan Sri Dr Mohd Daud Bakar has been awarded as Best Securitisation Sukuk at The Asset Triple A Islamic Finance Award (2020). Apart from sukuk advisory, her primarily focus is on Shariah governance, structuring, enhancement and conversion exercises, establishment of Islamic financial entities as well as development of Islamic products. Her career in banking & financial industry started as a trainee under Capital Market Graduated Trainee Scheme organized by the SC.

Prior to joining Amanie, she worked with Affin Investment Bank Bhd since 2006 as an executive for debt & capital markets department. She completed various project financing deals using private debt securities instruments ranging from infrastructure & utilities, real estate, plantation and many others.

Prof. Dr. Aznan Hasan
 
Professor, IIUM Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance, International Islamic University Malaysia

He was appointed as the Chairman of the Shariah Committee on 1 May 2014 and a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director 25 April 2019 at Maybank Islamic.

Dr Aznan received his first degree in Shariah from the University of al-Azhar and a Master's degree in Shariah from Cairo University with distinction (Mumtaz). He then obtained his PhD from the University of Wales, Lampeter, United Kingdom.

Currently, he is the Deputy Chairman of the Shariah Advisory Council of Securities Commission, a member of Board of Trustee at Yayasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Islam Malaysia (YaPEIM), a Board member of Higher Shari'ah Authority of UAE Central Bank, and a Shariah Board member of Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (“AAOIFI”). He had served as a member of the Shariah Advisory Council of Bank Negara Malaysia (2006-2008 and 2010-2013).

Dr Aznan also serves as a member of the Shariah Advisory Boards of Sedania As-Salam Capital Sdn Bhd, ABSA Islamic Bank (South Africa), FNB Bank (South Africa), Yasaar Limited (London), HSBC Amanah (Dubai), and Standard Chartered (Global).

Dr. Ismail bin Mohd @ Abu Hassan
 
Assistant Professor, Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws at the International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM)

Dr Ismail bin Mohd @ Abu Hassan was appointed as a Shariah Advisor to Amanah Hartanah Bumiputera (AHB) since 2010.

He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, IIUM.  He sits as a Shariah advisor for Amanahibah Malaysia since 2001. Dr Ismail also sits on the Board of Trustee for Infaq Lil Waqf, ANGKASA, Shariah Committee member for Koperasi Angkasa (KOPSYA) ANGKASA and as a member of the Board of Directors as well as the Shariah Committee Member, of Etiqa Takaful Malaysia. He is a registered Shariah advisor for the Islamic Unit Trust Schemes and Islamic securities (Sukuk), Securities Commission (SC). He was also a member of the Shariah Committee of Maybank Islamic from 2007 until 2017.

He graduated with First Class honours in Shariah from the University of Malaya and subsequently obtained his LL.M in Comparative Laws from the School of Oriental Studies, University of London. He then obtained his PhD in Comparative Law of Evidence from the Victoria University of Manchester, United Kingdom.

Mohd Fadhly Md. Yusoff was appointed as a Shariah Advisor to Amanah Hartanah Bumiputera (AHB) on 29 May 2022. Currently, he is a member of Shariah Committee for RHB Islamic Bank Berhad, Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad and Sun Life Malaysia Takaful Berhad. He is also a Registered Shariah Adviser for Sukuk and Unit trust (registered with Securities Commission), a Registered Syarie Lawyer, and an accredited trainer for Islamic Finance Qualification (lFQ) by Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Mohd Fadhly currently runs his own business and is also an independent Shariah advisor and consultant. He joined the Islamic Capital Market Department of Securities Commission, Malaysia, in 1995, where he obtained extensive supervisory and research experience in relation to securities, structured products, and collective investments for 12 years. He left the Securities Commission in 2008 as a manager.

He then became a Consultant to Securities Commission Malaysia for Islamic Capital Market Department before joining Pertubuhan Peladang Kebangsaan (NAFAS) Shariah Committee as a member. He also serves as a Shariah Committee member of Opus Asset Management Sdn Bhd and Apex Investment Services Berhad.

Mohd Fadly received a bachelor’s degree in Shariah (First Class Honours) from the University of Malaya, Malaysia, in 1995. He also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Administration of Judiciary & Islamic from University Kebangsaan Malaysia.
