Dato’ Idris Kechot
 
Chairman
Dato’ Idris Kechot was appointed as the Chairman of Maybank Asset Management Group and Maybank Asset Management Malaysia on 2 November 2020 and has been an Independent Non-Executive Director of Maybank Asset Management Group Berhad since 24 October 2019. He is also currently an Independent Non-Executive Director of Maybank since 15 May 2019.  

Dato’ Idris holds a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from University of Stirling, United Kingdom and a Bachelor in Agriculture from Universiti Putra Malaysia. He has also attended the Accelerated Development Programme at London Business School, United Kingdom.

Dato' Idris was formerly the Deputy President and Group Chief Operating Officer of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (“PNB”), one of the largest fund management companies in Malaysia. He was responsible for overseeing the unit trust and investment management operations of PNB. He has more than 30 years of experience in the entire value-chain of investment management business including equity and fixed income valuation, equity trading and portfolio management. He began his career as a research analyst with PNB in 1983 undertaking industry and sectorial research and has carved an illustrious career before retiring as the Deputy President and Group Chief Operating Officer of PNB on 31 December 2018.

Currently, Dato’ Idris is a chairman of Project Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd. He also sits on the Board of Goodyear Malaysia Berhad, Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (PERODUA) and Kumpulan Fima Berhad.

Goh Ching Yin
 
Director
Goh Ching Yin was appointed as the Chairman of Maybank Asset Management Singapore on 1 January 2021 and an Independent Non-Executive Director of Maybank Asset Management Group Berhad on 1 January 2017.

Goh holds master of business administration from the Cranfield University, and has held various leadership and management positions in investment banking, regional business development, strategic consultancy, corporate recovery and insolvency, and auditing. He started his professional career with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Company (now known as KPMG), and then moved on to consultancy at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Goh later started his foray into the investment banking industry when he was with RHB Sakura Merchant Bankers Berhad as a General Manager for Corporate Finance. Subsequently, he assumed the roles as the Managing Director of Corporate Finance with the BNP Paribas Group in Malaysia, and the Chief Executive Officer of Southern Investment Bank Berhad of the Southern Bank Group. He then held positions as executive director in the Chairman’s Office, Strategy and Development, and Market Oversight Divisions during his stint with the Securities Commission Malaysia.

Apart from his directorships, he is also the board member of Maybank Asset Management Sdn Bhd, Chairman of Risk Management Committee, a member of the Investment Committee and a member of the Audit Committee of MAMG. Within other Maybank group of companies, he is also a board member of Maybank Investment Bank Berhad.

Loh Lee Soon
 
Director
Loh Lee Soon was appointed as the Chairman of Maybank Private Equity Sdn Bhd on 2 November 2020 and an Independent Non-Executive Director of Maybank Asset Management Sdn Bhd on 1 January 2020. He also serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Maybank Asset Management Group Berhad since 22 April 2013.

He is a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

He started his career with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co as an auditor from 1974 until 1982. Thereafter, he established his auditing and information technology consultancy firm in 1984. He has held senior management positions in UEM Group Berhad, KPMG Consulting, Oracle Corporation Malaysia Sdn Bhd, specialising in information technology and management consulting. He was also formerly an independent director of Scicom (MSC) Berhad.

In addition, he is the Chairman of Audit Committee of the Board at MAMG and board member of Etiqa Life Insurance Berhad. He is also the Chairman of the Audit Committee of Maybank Ageas Holdings Berhad, the Chairman of Board Oversight Committee Information Technology, a member of the Risk Management Committee of Maybank Ageas Holdings Berhad and a member of EGIB Board Oversight Committee of Proposed Land Development.

Badrul Hisyam bin Abu Bakar
 
Director
Badrul Hisyam bin Abu Bakar was appointed as Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of Maybank Asset Management Singapore on 1 April 2020. He also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Maybank Asset Management Group on 25 April 2018.

Badrul has over 23 years of experience in numerous asset management companies such as HLG Asset Management Sdn Bhd, Commerce Asset Fund Managers Sdn Bhd, Avenue Asset Management Sdn Bhd, Tune Money Capital Sdn Bhd and BIMB Investment Management Berhad. His experience covers both traditional and shariah/ethical mandates and he has worked on both sides of the business - retail and institutional. At CIMB-Principal Asset Management Bhd, he was heavily engaged in the restructuring and rehabilitating of portfolios. Prior to joining Maybank AM, he was the Chief Investment Officer of BIMB Investment Management Berhad.

He graduated from New York University, USA with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Finance and Economics in 1996.

Ahmad Najib Nazlan
 
Executive Director
Ahmad Najib Nazlan was appointed as Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Maybank Asset Management Malaysia on 25 April 2018.  

Najib was previously the Chief Executive Officer of Maybank Islamic Asset Management and has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry covering portfolio and balance sheet management, credit ratings, structured products, private equity as well as Islamic Finance. He was previously the Malaysia CIO (fixed income and sukuk) of a global investment management firm, and had served in various capacities at the Central Bank of Malaysia, an Islamic bank as well as global investment banks.

Najib holds a bachelor's degree in business administration majoring in finance, and an M.B.A. with specialization in Islamic Finance from the International Islamic University of Malaysia, and is a CMSRL license holder and is also a member of the Financial Markets Association of Malaysia (FMAM, also known as the Persatuan Pasaran Kewangan Malaysia).
